Gour is a Zimbabwean-born digital entrepreneur with a passion for mobile internet technology and the empowerment it leads to.Gour’s thirty-year professional career spans the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa with senior roles at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Oracle and OzEmail and from mid1996 an exclusive focus on early-stage internet businesses.
In 1998 Gour co-founded digital ad serving technology company Sabela Media in Sydney, Australia which was acquired in early 2000 by NASDAQ listed 24/7 Media, Inc. In 2002 Gour joined the founders of Decide Interactive in Sydney, Australia to develop the search engine marketing technology business into a global service spanning three continents. The company was acquired by 24/7 Real Media, Inc in 2004.
Gour’s current venture Datafree is focussed on addressing the challenge of digital inclusion in emerging and developing markets by enabling #datafree access to internet services.The Datafree Platform technology is a world-first SaaS (Software as a Service) offering that enables mobile data costs for access to digital services to be reverse billed to enterprises, in the same fashion as toll-free numbers have been for decades. Datafree also developed the #datafree “Moya” super-app that has seen viral growth to over 6 million monthly active users in South Africa.
